The Kentucky Derby kicks off Thoroughbred Racing's "Triple Crown" this Saturday at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The next two races that round out the Triple Crown are the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland and the Belmont Stakes which is held at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. These horses are for 3-year old Thoroughbreds. Should a horse win each of these races, it is bestowed the award of the "Triple Crown", the highest achievement a racehorse can receive.
